Is it safe to get your tongue peirced when you have braces?

I've been moaning at my mum to let me get my tongue pierced! She kept saying no, but she gave in. I didn't want my belly done because no one would would see it lol! Anyways.. the next day i went to the dentist and, he said I'm getting braces on the 7th September. So that was fine. Then my mum took me to get my tongue done and the women asked if i was getting braces or anything, and she said that i wasn't aloud to get it done until my braces come off. Why is that? Does anyone know?

what they said was right, no tongue piercing when braces are fitted or the metal will get entangled into the braces. Try head or brain piercing, you will look great, right out,from the ZOO.

its not relly all that smart becouse you have to put these ruber bands in your mouth alonge with a metle bar behind your teeth and the peircing could git cought and if  you pull your tongue back quickly you may rip your tongue sounds gross but it happens and sometimes if your not lucky it could kill you becouse you have important vains in your mouth and it would  hert  badly

getting your tongue pierced is never completely safe, because its a moist area it can get infected very easily if its not taken care of properly. about half of people who get it done experience problems with it, i would just take that advice and wait till your braces come off, don't want to increase your risk more than you have to

the piercing might get caught in the braces, and anywayz, it's harder to keep your teeth clean when you have braces, so there's more chance of your piercing getting infected.

Because it is harder to remove the bacteria you have in your mouth when you use braces. Anyways, it is almost impossible to remove all the bacteria, even if you do not have braces. The piercing in your tongue is a open door to the bacteria to enter into your blood system. If your immune system gets weakened for any reason, you are going to get infected. Your mouth is the most "dirty" part of your whole body.

Don't get your tongue peirced you silly goose.  Tongue peircing WILL crack your teeth.  The hole allows bacteria into your blood stream.  Plus they look really stupid.

I can tell you that getting your tongue pierced can cause gum and tissue damage! You can also accidentally bite down on the appliance in your tongue and fracture a tooth. I tell all of my patient's NOT to do this with or without braces. Gum disease can cause heart problems that you will deal with your entire life! Your mouth is the dirtiest thing you can imagine. Virus's and bacteria live in your mouth. Do you really want those bacteria to settle in your piercing? Go with the belly button piercing if you need a piercing. Wear cropped shirts if you want people to see it, but please don't pierce your tongue!
