Is it safe to give Toddlers Suckers?

this was just something i was wondering...

I would not for Toddlers. I think older preschoolers could have them but I would want them to only have them while they are sitting down at the table.

It isn't a great idea.. I know the larger the pop the lesser the chance the baby has to choke on it.. personally my friends baby wanted one of those "rainbow HUGE lollipops" while at the zoo.. the baby took a good few licks the baby was happy and then after the few licks the lollipop ended up on the ground...

I don't think it is a good idea because of the sugar idea of it and the choking hazard..even the biggest lollipop could break a piece and get stuck in the throat... so just be careful if the baby is wanting the same thing as everyone else maybe a popsicle? something that is sweet and melts within min

You shouldn't unless you are going to monitor them VERY closely. If it's a blowpop or tootsie roll they'll probably l**k it and bite it a little and then get bored with it before it's done. If it's a dumdum or little barbar shop type sucker, they'll probably bite it off the stick or into little pieces. That's what you really need to be careful with.

No, its easy for them to choke on.

AND, there is no reason that toddlers

should be exposed to all that sugar so

young to begin with. Their teeth are

coming and why expose them to all

If by "toddler" you mean a child under three years old, then no. The stick on the sucker is small and easy to swallow, which is a choking hazard. Also, suckers are full of sugar and mimic soothers which could create the habit of using them as a sugary pacifier. This could cause cavities on the developing teeth as well as a habit of using sugar as means to relax,( This can cause poor eating habits and obesity in children,)

Not really, because they can choke on them easily.  Wait until they are about 4 or 5.
