It is totally safe. Just dont look at the sun if it is a solar eclipse. It is fine to look if it is a lunar eclipse.

Solar elcipse: the moon moves between Earth and the Sun, which blocks the sunlight. This would happen during the day.

Lunar eclipse: The earth moves between the sun and the moon. This would make a shadow on the moon. It only happens at night.

Why would there be? The worst that could happen is that youd be left in the dark for a very short period of time.
