  1. You can, only if they are compatible, but I always advise against having two since both will conflict and maybe cause system errors if both are active at the same time. I would only use Norton as it is good in detection and since two really isn't necessary. Plus, having two will cause your computer to become much slower compared to having one as it uses more memory and processing power. If you would like a program with the best detection, get Avira, not Kaspersky or NOD32, which most think is. This report shows it all on page 4. You need Adobe Reader to view it.

  2. yes it is safe, but it consumes a lot of resources especially memory.

  3. i think your pc get slower because of excessive load. norton is a heavy anti virus so go for only one

  4. No, anti-virus programs (especially Norton) will often conflict with each other, causing computer problems and less protection. Dump one of them, preferably Norton.

  5. No, it's  not safe, or smart.

Not smart, because Norton is already the slowest antivirus product known to man, and adding avg will just slow your system even more.

Not safe, because when you have more than 1 Av product "active" at the same time, they will both be trying to access and scan each new file at the same time, and it's possible (I've seen it happen before) that both AV products will get a "file in use, can't be scanned" message from the operating system, and neither product will scan the file.  The default behavior (and can't be changed in most AV products) is that if the file is in use, it just skps it.  It has to be this way, because there are normally files that are in use by the operating system, and people wouldn't like it if the system just "locked up" when their AV tried to scan one of these, waiting for the file to become "Free" to scan.

If you are concerned about viruses, I'd suggest getting NOD32 which has the highest detection rates of all AV products and run just it.  It's also WAY faster than AVG or Norton. http://www.eset.com  There is also a 30 day free trial so you can try it before you buy it.

  6. well it is but having those to antivirus's which are the best in the net can really slow down your computer. so i reccomend uninstalling one of them.
