  1. it's probably not the healthiest thing to do.

considering you're not supposed to go from hot to cold really fast, and vise versa.

but cross country runners still run outside in that freezing weather. you probably want to wear more than a hoody and sweatpants tho. get some spandex made for running when it's cold out. and a hat. haha. that keeps your body warm.

  2. You can run in any temps you can tolerate.  I run in single digit temps whenever they happen.  Just dress appropriately.

  3. Of course, that's nothing. I've ran when it was 10 degrees before.

  4. 40-50 degrees can be run in shorts and a t-shirt.  It is actually a great running temperature.  Do you live in Florida?  You do not need to add clothes until you get down below freezing.  You are a little cold when you start but by 3/4 mile you are all warmed up.  How cold you go depends on you.  I now rarely run if it gets below 10 degrees but used to run down to zero and below.  To the best of my knowledge cold has nothing to do with illness.

  5. Everyone's body reacts differently to the cold, so yours might get a cold. But if you keep yourself warm constantly, you'll lower that chance. You should wear sweats when you go out, and before you run do a quick 3-5 minute warmup inside to get your body warm, like jumping rope, jogging in place, what have you. Make sure your clothes are dry and if they get damp when you come back home, make sure that you change into warmer clothes. here's some links to articles about running in the cold. Runner's World is an excellent place for running advice, you should check it out. type in cold weather in the search box in the top right if you want more articles.

  6. it might not be good when it's really cold because sweating while out in the cold will only make you colder, but you won't realize it as you jog. practice jogging with a parka. :) that would be some good excercise.

  7. yep, just do it
