  1. No worry

  2. the safest thing is to keep it off, but if you're running Windows Firewall and Defender, in addition to a real anti-virus program like Norton then you're fine.

  3. only for downloads,  add a firewall, and good antivirus. [avg]

i have a button on my modem to quickly turn it on and off. so i have it off as the windows comes up and loads its protections then i turn on the modem.

  4. If you have proper security in place, yes. I have a hardware router and software firewall on my PC. It rarely is off - the last time my PC was off was during a power outage.

  5. I cannot say whether it is safe or not. Suffice to say it is no more dangerous than shutting down.

If your computer is secure, it's secure. If not, it's not.

  6. well you can do it when you have laptop but if you have a pc then you probably shouldn't because there´s a big chance someone can get into your computer and put a virus in it or something like that.

  7. Teresa...other than power outages, moving it, accidental unplugs, and 2 pc upgrades...the last time i intentionally shut down my computer was in 1998.  That is if you don't count reboots, which I have had more than my share of.  As long as you have a good virus detector, and a popup blocker turned on...You should be fine, other than uslessly waisting electricity.  There are some things I don't like to compromise on;  One is butter.  Another is whole milk.  HiDef TV is important to me.....and....thats about it...except that if i need to get on my computer...i need to get on it right now.  Not 4 minutes later.  As long as you're protected...Rock on Girl... leave it on.
