Is it safe to leave my fairy lights on over night?

Ive got a little chain of fluffy fairylights in my room, they're not plugged into an extension lead, and they dont get too hot, but i was a bit worried about them catching fire when im asleep, am i right to be worried or are they safe?

  1. Turn them off, they don't need to be on whilst you're asleep do they? There is the obvious fire risk, plus it's wasting electricity and costing you money so you might aswell turn them off hun. x

  4. Best to turn them off, they won't be designed to be left on for a long time. You'll save energy too!

    If you need a night light get one of those soft glow ones that plugs directly into a plug.

  5. no its not safe.each year theres always fires around christmas time and there fairy lights.make sure you turn them off they could over heat and especially with fluff around them cause a fire.

  6. You are right to be worried. Please turn them off before you sleep. You get bigger ones (expensive) that have an adaptor on them that are safer, but yours, no....switch them off.
