Is it safe to mix 409 with bleach??

Question

I'm getting lazy, instead of doing first the 409 then going over it again with bleach can I just mix both? If so what proportions?

NO never mix anything but water with bleach.

It should say on the bottle if it's not safe, but like the others said, better safe than sorry.

Also, instead of making two passes (409 then bleach), why don't you find a cleaner that does the job in one step, like SoftScrub (which contains bleach) or something?

Kathleen, please don't mix bleach with anything. There have been people who were mixing products and working in a closed-in, small bathroom, who have passed out. The fumes are just plain lethal.

Not only is bleach a problem by itself, mixing any two powerful cleaners is potentially dangerous. I'd rather you have your health than a clean bathroom. Be careful!

if you don't mind poisonous fumes, sure.  Go for it.  The general rule is not to mix chemicals period.  Check the label of the 409 and see what the precautions are.
