My boyfriend is in serious pain when he is sitting or bending down, and he will be doing a lot of that at this show.

  1. although this is not a direct answer to your question, have him see a chiropractor trained in the palmer method.

I have been in 20-25 car accidents including being run over by a car.  I have had a severely herniated disk (sciatic nerve pinched) 4 times.

the last time was so bad that a neurologist told me that I needed immediate surgery which I refused and said I wanted to try conservative treatment with my chiropractor first (as I knew he fixed me before) and the doctor yelled after me down the hall "you will be back within one week I guarantee it..the pain will be too bad but I never went back...the pain was intense for as year and I had to use a wheelchair and I used a tens unit all the time and ice for pain but eventually, my chiropractor got me from taking 15 minutes to walk to the next room and being unable to take a bath cause I could not get my leg high enough to get over the tub to walking 45 minutes a day.  I will always have back problems and pain as I was in so many times and the cumulative effect hurt me and smaller wrecks hurt me more cause I was damaged, but I am so much better than before it is unimaginable...I only hurt when standing still but walking is ok and sitting.

Without my chiropractor I shudder to think where I would be.

also tell him to use hot and cold showers (one minute hot as he can take and one minute cold as he can take on the area ..7 hots and 7 colds and do this at least twice a day and also use a capsicum cream like *** kisser by little moon essentials or Dr schultz's deep tissue oil

to help him through the show, use ice, a capsicum cream and a tens unit (these put electrical pulses there and are very very helpful for the pain, but go to a chiropractor for real help...be aware that it takes a lot of visits and sometimes hurts a little more at first ..this is cause the back gets used to being in the wrong place and when the chiropractor fixes it by adjusting and putting it in the right place, the muscles get re-stretched and usually, it snaps right back to the wrong place again..with each visit the muscles strengthen and stay in place a little longer..eventually it is staying in the right place longer and longer and one day, you are fixed...and then just need some maintenance check ups once in a while,..

my chiropractor is a miracle worker and also chiropractic has other benefits but they are so good for neck and back problems..in fact, a government study showed then most effective and exercise 2nd far beating out medical doctors treatments and the AMA got mad and got the study on neck pain cancelled but chiropractic is great there too,

  2. Only as far as the amount of pain he's willing to deal with. I have a pinched sciatic, and yes it's very pain full, any pain killers ?

Safe, it's not going to break, pain tells us to play it cool. This is why we have it, to limit our actions while hurt. So we heal.

You have the best information I can give you.
