Is it safe to pressure wash an unifinished basement?

We've just bought a new house and our concrete basement is really dusty. Everytime we go down there we track drywall dust all over the rest of the house. We have no sump pump and I'm wondering if the water will build up or make it musty/moldy if we pressure wash. Help

  1. I think it's a great idea.........just open all doors and windows and dry it as fast as possible when finished. My kind of cleaning man..........just blast it:)

  2. Unless you have a door that opens to the outside, and land that slopes away from the house, you will have water standing on the floor!

I would suggest first sweeping as much up as possible. Then wet mopping (rinse mop every 2 minutes) , followed by a small amount of water and a wet/dry vacuum, to get the dust out of the pores of the concrete.
