Is it safe to put antibiotic ointment or cream on an episiotomy incision that looks & feels infected?

The stitches are out now, but the incision is red and very sore.

I agree, you need medical treatment for that - probably antibiotics.

EDIT:  In the meantime, salt baths are recommended to reduce infection. A hassle, I know, but it helps.  Good luck!

No You need to go back to the doctor thats not something to fix at home by yourself.
