  1. Bleach is not the answer, your chlorine level is too low and maybe your filter isn't working properly, check those two things.

  2. I clean my fork, spoons, cups, basically my utensils with bleach for years by now. No one died so far. Just make sure you clean it throughly after that

  3. um yeh i guess

  4. What do you mean by shocked? I'd empty the water out, clean ALL the sides of the pool, maybe re-paint it, then SAND IT AFTER REPAINTING!!! My dad didn't do that, and OUCH!!

Also, you can try using a litmus. A litmus is a piece of paper that helps test to see if something is Basic or Acidic. If a red litmus turns blue, I THINK, think but I'm pretty sure that that means the pool's acidic, so try adding a natural-ish base, like bleach, to the pool, then test it with a blue litmus. If the blue litmus turns red, that means the pool is too basic, so try adding an acid, like lemon juice! =]]]

Have you tried adding chlorine, period???

  5. Yes bleach is perfectly suitable to sanitize your pool and to shock your pool. Make sure you are using regular unscented 6% clorox. An off brand is fine as well just make sure it is 6%. The active ingredient in bleach is sodium hypochlorite- a form of chlorine. Bleach is the exact same thing as chlorinating liquid found at pool stores but chlorinating liquid is 12% sodium hypochlorite. You do not need to drain your pool or anything like that. Make sure your pH is around 7.2-7.4 (chlorine works much better at this pH level) and bring your pool to shock level (at least 11ppm). Maintain this chlorine level until it holds overnight. This will ensure that all the organic material (algae) is dead. Brush daily and vacuum often. Make sure you filter is clean and let the pump run 24hrs/day until the water clears up.
