I am building a turtle set up in my pond and was thinking of stacking up some floor tiles as to make a basking area. Will the tiles make any sort of chemical reaction that is bad for turtles? They are the tiles left over from our bathroom

thanks!

  1. That's a great idea!  I don't think tiles have any chemicals...they are basically clay that has been fired in a kiln, so they are probably the type of stuff that are especially good for this type of use.  Wish I had thought about that when building my aquarium set-up for my red-eard slider.

    good luck

  2. it should not be a problem just make sure you boil them or put them in boiling water first, as to remove any germs that might be in them.

good luck with your turtle pond!
