  1. Your joking right? I just cant imagine a good mother asking that kind of question....

  2. I wouldn't do it. Most public pools won't allow you to put your child in the pool without a diaper or lil swimmers anyway.

  3. why would you do that?? is she potty trained?? i wouldnt go without until she is fully trained, thats just gross, what if she were to have an accident??

  4. Why would you have a naked child in public? There are some creeps out there ya know! lol! I'm assuming you mean with only a bathing suit right?  I don't think it would be harmful to her but if she's not potty trained it would be harmful to the other swimmers if she decides to leave a floater....And to her I guess if she continued to swim.  I would not recommend a regular diaper in water! Little Swimmers are really good my son wears them all the time.

    Good Luck & God Bless!

  5. Not safe for the other swimmers.  The swim diapers are meant to protect OTHER swimmers from p**p in the pool.  In general, I would not put a young child in a public pool.  They are too young and there are risks of shigella and other viruses in there.

  6. No and most baths wont let you do this anyway ..Thomas pictured left with his twin sister is only half toilet trained (he has autism) and we use a swim nappy on him its only for his enjoyment in case he does anything and would have to be taken out and for that of the other swimmers i wouldn't want to swim knowing a baby isn't in the right swimwear

  7. I can understand the quandary.  Many one year old girls already p**p on a schedule.  And swim diapers only contain p**p, not pee.  The thing is, other people will be more comfortable if you have your child in a diaper.  And there is the risk of an accident, so it's good to have containment handy.

Pool staff generally can't just scoop p**p out with a net.  There's usually a protocol which involves ordering everyone out and chemically shocking the pool, then waiting for the levels to drop safely.

If you don't like the waste of disposable swim diapers, there are cloth options.  The wee wave style (pull up, PUL coated terry) are a pain to get off when wet.  There are other brands which are easier to remove (Imse Vimse, bummis, etc) when wet.  Maybe that would be a decent compromise for you?

Also, contact your local pool. Some pools prefer cloth swim diapers because the disposable ones can fall apart, causing problems for the filtration systems.  Others prefer disposable because they don't trust cloth.  Go figure.

  8. No. That is disgusting and completely inconsiderate to other swimmers. Just because you love all your little angels messy things, doesn't mean everyone else does. Get over yourself and your daughter, and start thinking of others. Dammit. I hate parents like this who think that their child is more important than anything else.

  9. No,it's unsanitary to do so in a public pool. And besides the chlorene is really strong for her ,it could break her out!

  10. little swimmers are the best solution and do not put a regular diaper on your baby when he or she is in the water it falls apart and fan get your baby an infection. My son Evander learned that the hard way.

  11. Go ahead, but I wouldn't be in the pool with her. I hardly even trust swim diapers in public pools. Wait until she is completely toilet trained and stick with the kiddie pools until she is tall enough to reach the bottom of the shallow end in the big girl pool.

  12. What??????   Do you want to shut the pool down????

Lets have some common sense here. All babies that wear diapers should not be in public pools.

  13. I would say not to do it a one year old goes to the bathroom quite frequently and cannot control their urge to go to the bathroom so she would most likely go while she is in the pool and that is not good for other swimmers and it is not very kind. I just started letting my 4 year old wear his swim trunks without anything since he has been fully potty trained for 4 months my two year old still wears the little swimmers.

  14. No, certainly not. The people who run the pool would kick you both out if your caught.  Pee in a pool in not a problem but poo is. It is unsanitary to everyone in the pool and will cause the pool to be shut down for a day or longer for cleaning. The "swim diapers" are made for this reason to contain poo. Why would you not want to use swim diapers? Also, don't ever use a regular diaper in water. They will swell up really big and bust open leaving a big mess in the pool. Then the pool needs to be closed for cleaning.

  15. Concerning safety I don't think it's a issue if your worried about her health...the water still gets into the lil' swimmers..however she may have a "accident" and it is much easier to clean up when she does have a lil' swimmer on.....trust me...lol..

  16. I'm sure that Lil swimmers would serve the purpose well!   There are rules at public pools,

so ask them.  (But personally, I would put her in some sort bathing suit, or lil swimmers.)

Better yet get a plastic pool the two of you can sit in, and easily change the water with a hose.

(Just rinse the pool after you get out, and refill the next day.)
