Is it safe to put plastic in the oven?

Like a modern oven. Is it safe to put plastic in any kind of oven? I know you put a plastic in the microwave oven.

DO NOT put plastic in the oven - it will melt!

You can put plastic in the oven, but if you heat the oven with the plastic in it, you're not too bright.

I put plastic in the microwave all the time.

I put plastic in my convection all time provided its off.  Do not put plastic in a hot convection oven.  Smells
