  1. Until recently, the AAP stated that sunscreen shouldn't be used on babies under 6 months.

Now, however, they've updated that information.

According to their Summer Safety Tips:

    "Babies under 6 months:

Avoiding sun exposure and dressing infants in lightweight long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and brimmed hats that shade the neck are still the top recommendations from the AAP to prevent sunburn. However when adequate clothing and shade are not available, parents can apply a minimal amount of suncreen with at least 15 SPF (sun protection factor) to small areas, such as the infant's face and the back of the hands. If an infant gets sunburn, apply cold compresses to the affected area. "

  2. I would use a hat instead.  My baby had an allergic reaction to sunscreen, only around the eyes.  It was fine everywhere else.

  3. I think that you should ask your pediatrician first before you put anything on the little ones precious face.  Being that your baby is at the age where their skin is sooo sensitive, especially in the face.  Some babies facial skin is extremely sensitive.  Usually if it says something about consulting with a physician before applying, then that's what you should do. You want to be better safe than sorry.  But until you find out from the ped, use a hat to block the sun from the face.

  4. I use to have the same question because there really is not *tear-free* sunscreen. But I found that the Aveeno baby works great! It is so thick that a little goes along way. Since it is thick you can control is a lot better so the chances of running the eyes are a lot less. Hope that helps :) Make sure you use a hat too.

  5. Children under 6 months should not wear sun screen. So no its not safe to put it on your baby's face.

  6. put a hat on him and just rub alittle bit of sunscreen on his forehead and cheeks....

  7. yes just be very careful not to get in your baby's eyes.

also WATER BABIES is prob your best bet as well. its very good, and is PAPA free... which is meant for babies.
