  1. The reason you are not supposed to reuse those bottles is because when the bottles that are marked with the recycle symbol (the three arrows forming a triangle usually found on the bottom) contain the numbers 1 through 7 in the center of the triangle, they can release harmful toxins if they are exposed to warmer temperatures. The toxin is much like estrogen and can cause problems in males and females of any age. Those with the numbers 8 or higher are considered safe, but are usually much harder plastics than the lower numbers.

  2. You can reuse those bottles as many times as you want. The manufacturer doesn't want you to use it over again. Each time you use that bottle over again is one less bottle of water he makes money off of.

  3. If it was reusable then everybody could fill them up over and over and the water companies would lose money. So if I owned the water company i would make sure it said that too.

    It's fine!

  4. yes.

  5. The company just wants you to buy more water instead of reusing the bottles. When I was little I used to take water and lemonade in a water bottle that I reused. Just make sure to wash it nicely!

  6. Its safe to reuse, I think what the bottling company is implying that they can't refill and seal the bottle for another customer. It must be recycled and melted down.
