  1. if u use pay pall, it is very safe. the only time that we have had a problem, was whenmy sisterbought a motorx bike off it and she travlled 3 hours to get it, and the man didnt turn up with it and get the 500 pound deposit.

  2. my mum's the same, but it has got appraisles of being one of the most secure sites. Think it's one of those where you never can be to sure of who might be able to hack in with your card details gone.

  3. yeah it is! you get paid before you send the goods, so as long as you get paid theres no problem!

  4. Ive had no problem and i know a lot of my

    Friends ain't eather,!!

  5. Its perfectly safe. Just make sure you obtain proof of postage for everything you mail.

  6. No site is 100% safe, but eBay is probably the safest site around today. The percentage of people who have bad experiences is very low. The best way to be safe is to only accept Paypal. That way you know for certain that the payment is in your hands before sending the goods.

  7. I've sold lots with no problems. I do however only accept Paypal to reduce any risks.

  8. its not safe when you put somthin on ebay they charge u 15 pound and they take fees away from u with out knowing my dads frend got scammed  on ebay

  9. Thousands of people do it every day, including myself.

What is your mother worried about exactly?

All Payment are secure and insured by Ebay and Paypal (for Payment by card).

Its more of a buyers market though would be the only disadvantage to selling, but that of course depend on what you have to sell ?

  10. You'll find a lot of people that haven't had a problem using eBay.  However, you'll also find lots of people that have been scammed out of a lot of money using eBay.  Also, eBay and PayPal almost always settle in favor of the buyer.  So even if you have proof of delivery, it is easy to get scammed as a seller.

Also, eBay charges listing fees, commissions, and other fees, so it can be expensive to sell on eBay.

The safest thing to do is sell your stuff to people in your local area and only accept cash payment.  Sell your stuff on MarketWall:

    http://marketwall.com

MarketWall is free and it's only for face-to-face, cash transactions.

  11. I'm going to say no it isn't safe to use e-bay at all.  1000 real buyers and sellers honest folks but then theres the scum maybe 1-100. Positive feedback can be faked as well.  E-bay is based is Switzerland and they own pay-pal also based in Switzerland which for some reason is outside of international law.  I used e-bay once and within a week i had fake emails claiming i owed pay pal money, so that tells me the outside sources they use are not secure.  All it takes is a person in Karachi or Bangladesh on the inside to sell your info to a phisher.  They all do it as far as i care.

  12. Yes, I sell things all the time on ebay. There are laws against not paying/sending items to prevent fraud.

  13. it depends what you selling, i have been making and selling jewellery for years and its fine but if your selling high priced items such as mobile phones, games consoles, designer stuff then there are millions of scammers after these items, as long as you follow the guide lines and never ever post to nigeria then you will be fine.
