Is it safe to send a copy of credit card (back and front) by e-mail/fax for international online shoping?

I have placed an order for an electronic item online from US, but the online shop (www.tristatecamera.com) asking to send a copy of credit card (front and back side). Is it advisable to send it on safety reasons since credit card is very sensitive?

Paypal account is not possible for an international order

  1. Never do that ... you are giving the person all the information he needs to do purchase on the card. If your mail or fax is intercepted pray your luck that your credit card bills dont rise exponentially

I am in the US, and know that Tri State Camera has been in business for at least 20 years.  They are not a shame business.  Sending a copy of the front and back of the credit card contains the same information you would have to enter if you went through on-line checkout, as many vendors also ask for the code on the back of the credit card.

    I would say in this instance, sending the requested information to Tri State Camera is safe.  Also, if for some reason you have a problem with the transaction or vendor, you would still be able to make a charge back request through your credit card company.
