over an open connection? ie over a wifi connection at a cafe? or can anyone read it? what about sending other confidential information over your own internet connection? is that safe or can your ISP read it?

would it be safe to send confidential information over hushmail on your own ISP? can they not read that as its encrypted or something? or cant your ISP read your emails anyway?

what about using an IP blocker like Tor, is that secure? or is that just tons of open connections that anyone can read?

so, basically my Qs are:

1. is it safe to send confidential information over open or your own ISPs? what about Tor?

2. is it safe to send confidential information via hushmail over open, your own or Tor IPs/ISPs? or can your own ISP read it if its your own? or anyone on an open connection can read it if its open or the Tor ones? thanks

  1. Anything can be intercepted over the internet. That why things should be encrypted. You should never use a public terminal for anything except general browsing.

  2. To my knowledge, your ISP can read anything you send over the net.  That's where encryption comes in.

  3. I would not give this information unless https is showing at the begining of the web address. The 's' indicates a secure site.

  4. I wouldn't.

  5. I wouldn't.

I always try to print out forms and snail mail them.
