My neighbor has a Cockatiel who she says love bathing. She gets the squirt bottle and squirts him and he opens his wings as if to let her do it under there. And glides his wings so she can keep doing it. She does it once in a while but he is all distorted like he is drunk or something staggers and rolls around his perch......but then after about 5-10 minutes he is ok and shakes it off. He is 3 years old and she has done this for some time now.

  1. Cockatiels and several other birds LOVE to be showered with clean water misted out of a squirt bottle. It is good for them and makes them very happy. You can even do it every day, but if it makes the bird that disoriented then maybe she's getting him too wet. Really just a light misting is fine.

  2. Mine loves to be misted, but will not take a bath. So that is the only way to clean him.  He also enjoys a hair dryer turned on low heat and held away from him a bit, to dry his feathers.

  3. it is safe as long as the water is luke warm and she/he get dried of quickly and the water and water bottle is clean

  4. yea u can do that or you can shower him with a shower head, let him shower hiself in a bowl.put him in the kitchen sink theres lots of ways.
