  1. can you even get them to stay balanced without it toppling over? use rails with polls instead. Much safer.

  2. Why not just bring a set of standards and rails inside? Safer than stacking.

  3. yes although I don't know how you stack poles on top of each other. Another idea is to lay them on the side of each jump as a run out blocker, or for a vertical dress it up by doing a triple bar.

    hope this helps...please best answer!

  4. Personally, I wouldn't.

  5. i think its dangerous because if the horse knocks the top one over it could trip and injure itself on it or injure you.

  6. I think it is fine> I have made jumps out of cones. I can show a pic if you want. Its really cool.

As long as they are safe with no sharp edges than its fine.

My friends made jumps out of rakes and stall pitch forks. FOR

    MINIS.

Its good to create weird jumps for jumper horse. it gets them ok with weird things.

  7. yeah, it should be. just make sure its not gonna fall with the small bit of wind or anything.

    happy riding :)

  8. The official answer is no, it's not safe.  If your horse knocks the top one off, it could cause an accident since it's not just a plain pole falling.  However, I have jumped stacked cavalettis with no problems, and have never heard of an actual situation where a horse or person got injured by it.  But, our opinions don't really matter if you have to do what your instructor says.

  9. Its really personal pref as you can see from everyones answers. You would also have to judge on the horse you were riding and how much experience you have as a rider eg: it wouldnt be the smartest thing to do on a green horse who is still often hitting poles. Or you are trying to jump higher than normal.

you have to weigh it all up and decide for youself but think of the following things

they weight more than the average pole, so they hurt a lot more if they are landing from a height

if it falls its still "a jump"- so your either going to miss it landing, snap it, or you or you/ horse land on it and hurt yourself, or land between the bottom and top if you get a really bad jump- they you would fall over it then.

i wouldnt teach will them but i would consider jumping them if there wasnt an alternative and the horse was a right.

a jump with a wing will always fall if hit and this is ALWAYS the safest option you cant dispute this but jumping with cavalettis in those style isnt nes the unsafest thing ive heard of

think about x/c those jumps are fixed thats why they tend to cause the most damage

    good luck!

  10. do you mean this type cavaletties:

    http://sponsorhindernissen.hindernissen....

    or these:

    http://www.doversaddlery.com/blok-traini...

if the first, its "safe enough" if that makes sense. We used to do it and noone died or got hurt, but i don't know if i would do it any more.

if its the second, then its no problem at all, thats totally safe.
