Is it safe to stick a pin or lance a very large and painful hemorrhoid that looks like it's full of pus?

This is NO JOKE. Preparation H, Tucks pads, hot showers and Vicodin have done nothing for this pain. I see the Dr on Tuesday, but I'm not sure I can stand this pain for that long....any GOOD and helpful suggestions are appreciated.

Short answer: NO do not do this.

Long answer: Here's why: if you lance a hemorrhoid yourself, then you are  creating an opening in your skin (yes, I know it's not your OUTside skin, but the lining of your a**s/r****m still protects your blood/body from outside things) between your blood and a huge number of bacteria. No matter how much you think you sterilize things, you are just opening yourself up to an infection that really do you a world of hurt.

If you are in that much pain... a warm bathtub for you to sit in? Take your meds? Other than that... I got nothing.
