Is it safe to study in the US for foreign students ?

i'm contemplating studying in the states in the future, but i was wondering if it's really safe for me to go there, i'm from africa, do i have to worry for my safety if i go there ? will i get discriminated against for being african ?

  1. You should look at www.edupass.org website. It will answer your questions and give important information about safe places to live, safety tips, what Americans act like and what important cultural differences you need to know.

    You will be fine studying in the USA and being from Africa, most people will be interested to know about you and your country. discrimination may happen rarely, but its nothing that should keep you from studying in the USA.


  2. No. I don't think so. An American university is some of the most accepting places in the country. Especially as an international many students will actually be excited to meet you and make friends with you. I know i always look forward to making friends with the new international students every year.

  3. You should be fine. Choosing a school with a large number of students from abroad may make you feel more comfortable.

  4. well it's the u.s there are lots of africans there!! so relax... i'm a student in italy... and man where i stay there are no blacks.. there are bad days and good days.... most of them are good!!

    in the US what's the worst that could happen.... it also depends on where you will be living... good luck
