Is it safe to surf with it?

I might get snakebites(2 lip piercings) and I wanted to know if it was safe to surf with? i'm afraid i mite bumb my lip or it getting it infected? So yea can i surf with Lip piercings?

salt water is good for healing cuts, and stuff...

However, I wouldn't risk surfing with them in larger waves. I think small waves would be ok though.

yeah its cool and it wont get infected coz of the salt water rather it will heal quicker with the salt water

They're probably more likely to get infected out of the water. The salt water should be good for them as long as its relatively clean.

Its up to you how safe you think it will be. It's likely that you could bump your lip on your board, I can't imagine them getting ripped out or anything but it will probably hurt and could possibly damage your teeth...

It's a risk, just make sure you cover your face with your arms whenever you wipe out or when you don't know where your board is.

take em out if your not sure- though if you leave them in, it might get ripped off or infected- but i'm sure they would improve your surfer appereance, if you let them stay in

I can't imagine why you'd want 'em, but if you do, the ocean is not generally a high risk environment for infection, unlike lakes, rivers and streams. That not to say that the water, sun and rough activity might not cause some uncomfortable irritation.

You can surf with lip piercings, or any other ones.  The key it to wait until they are healed.  You should wait at least four weeks before getting in the water.  

I have 10 facial piercings, including 3 lip and have not had any problem with infection or banging them on the board.
