i got my wisdom teeth out yesterday, and the dr prescribed me vicodin.. but i dont like using it all the time, unless the pain is extremely bad. as long as i wait 4 hours in between each type of medicine, is it safe to switch back and forth from advil to vicodin, considering they do not have the same active ingredients?

  1. Isn't that what dentist tells you to do? Yes it's safe, just don't take more than recommend dosage.

Vicodin is made for pain, not by the devil you won't turn into a junkie.

  2. It would defiantely be safer than risking getting hooked on vicodin.  I am all for following a doctors orders to the T but when it comes to something like that I kinda feel like if you dont need it dont take it.

  3. Use tylenol stay off the vicodin it is very addictive.

  4. Yes it is... its not because vicodin is addictive but because you are mixing it with advil. Advil is not an acetaminophen like vicodin is. You should be switching between vicodin and Tylenol or generic acetas
