Is it safe to take Melatonin if you are taking Blood Pressure Medicine?

  1. I've heard it's not. I take st. johns wort and they have some similar medicinal properties and im not aloud to take anything for blood pressure with that....do all the research you can!  good luck


  2. It really depends on what you're taking the blood pressure medication for (ie do you suffer from low blood pressure or high blood pressure?). But generally it is safe to take melatonin along with blood pressure medication. Some studies show that taking Melatonin decreases night-time blood pressure which actually protects the heart from damage.

    As with most drugs, there are exceptions to this so the best way to know for sure is talking to your GP.
