  1. Telephone lines and metal pipes can conduct electricity. Unplug appliances. Avoid using the telephone or any electrical appliances. (Leaving electric lights on, however, does not increase the chances of your home being struck by lightning.) Avoid taking a bath or shower, or running water for any other purpose.

  2. yes. but it would be wise to turn the heater on & keep the door closed.

  3. if your inside yes it safe.  but if your outside you could  struck by lighting and burn your buns

  4. No, it is not safe to take a shower if lightning is present. The amount of danger depends on your plumbing.   Some  houses, especially older ones contain metal pipes for water.  Since metal is a good conductor of electricity, lightning striking anywhere close to your house is likely to travel through the metal pipes and into your shower.  The same reasoning applies to water pipes made of non-conducting material such as plastics, the only difference being that water is slightly less conductive than metal pipes.

  5. Okay,

First of all is it ok to go swimming when a thunderstorm is going on? NO! So taking a shower is like the same thing. A lot of medal is in there and you are wet which atracts lightening! That is why it rains in a thunderstorm! People these days are such DIPDEWS!

  6. No it isn't safe to take a shower when there is lightening.  The pipes DO conduct electricity.  I had a cousin that was struck by lightening through the shower.

  7. It is not as safe as most people think.

I personally know 2 people who got shocked (1 badly) when lightning struck near their homes while they were bathing (showering).

  8. Many houses are grounded through their water pipes.  Both metal pipes and water conduct electricity, so no.

  9. Yes, But you could wait, for your own 'peace of mind'...!!

  10. Yeah, the pipes don't conduct electricity.
