I'm taking citalopram for depression / anxiety. But I think I need something stronger. I've been on citalopram for 3 weeks. How long does it take to start working? My anxiety has decreased, but not as much as I'd like.

  1. Citalopram (Celexa) can often take about 4-6 weeks to begin to feel the benefit.  You're almost there, but you might also want to discuss increasing the dose with your prescriber as well.

It is perfectly safe to take Temazepam while you're on the Citalopram.  They won't interfere with each other because they target entirely DIFFERENT areas in the brain.

    Best of luck!
