  1. i wouldn't risk this ever! no matter how short the journey you cannot predict anything!

if you are to go ahead ith this despite my advice, please take the reins and martingale off.

in my opinion the saddle will get damaged as the horse leans on the partitions.

  2. yes its ok i have done this a few times but dont make a habit of doing it and only if your horse travels really well

i undo the throat lash and do it back up with the reins looped inside, its also a good idea to take your stirrups off. put a headcollar on over the bridle and tie him up in the box.

  3. If you're going to do it at all, take the reins off of the horse. It will make the trip much more comfortable for it. You can leave the rest of the tack on because it is such a short distance. The saddle won't get bashed, if anything were to happen it might get a little nick. The horse will be fine like that, just make sure the journey is that short at all times, for the sake of the horse.

  4. I wouldn't do it. There is way too much chance that your tack could get caught on something damaging it and scaring him. Just tack him up when you get there.

  5. If by "in the box" you mean trailer, then, a short 5/10 ride with tack on should be fine if it is a stock type trailer.  I have done this before and no harm was done to my saddle. I wouldn't have your bridle on though. Stick to a halter and bridle up when you get to where you are going. I might be hesitant to do so if it was a slant load, or a set up where the horse doesnt have much room to have extras on him.

  6. For safety of my horses and condition of my tack, even on short trips, the horses are untacked.

There are too many things that can go wrong in a trailer.

Spend the extra couple of minutes to tack and un-tack.  Your saddle will thank you.

  7. well i would tell you not to do this but if you are going to you need to take off the reins and tie the stirrups up. but keep an eye on the horse. i have done this before but it was of an emergency and it was only for a min or two. don't do it if you don't have to. but if you are talking about talking a ride in the trailer your horse will be fine.your saddle won't  be scratched. but don't bridle up until to get to were you are going. use a halter and lead. but tie up your stirrups. good luck

  8. Take the WHOLE bridle off. You can leave anything else on, but the saddle, if it's nice then keep it on!!!!! Well, hope this helps!
