  1. yuppers

  2. when your time comes to leave this world it will happen no matter what. If you have a fear of water I would not go. you would probably not have a good time. Same with flying. go the way you are most comfortable. Better for you & others concerned.

  3. Absolutely!  Cruise lines have installed great security systems.  Actually I think it is probably one of the very safest and economical ways to vacaion.

  4. Ships are really safe on water because of the stabilizers.  Cruise ship stabilizers are pretty amazing.  You would be surprised at what they can stand up against.  Last March, a rogue wave hit the Norwegian Dawn and it stayed upright the whole time (if you've seen Poseidon, the same thing happended only the ship didn't flip over).  I wouldn't worry if I were you.  And, if you are scared of that sort of thing happening, go to Alaska or somewhere with lots of islands so that if something does happen, you will be close to land.

  5. Yes it is very safe.  The big cruise ships they have been building are very stable.  The first order of business when you board for a cruise is a mandatory life boat drill.  Every passenger MUST participate and the crew membes are assigned to help.  Every cabin on the ship has a life preserver for each passenger and there are extras all over the ship.  All cruise ships have enough life boats to handle all of the passengers on board and they know how to get them into the water quickly.  At some port  stops the passengers actually board a couple life boats to get to shore when the pier is not large enough for the ship and/or the water is not deep enough.

I have been on more than a dozen cruises and always feel safe.
