Is it safe to travel in South France? how would you compare it with Paris?

I felt very safe in Paris but when I came to the south of France, 4 Muslim men attacked me because I was wearing a cross. I ended up in a hospital with 3 surgeries done on my face. South of France is more dangerous, especially if you are a blond female. Most likely blonds in the south are tourists.

France is in general a safe country. You need to avoid some parts of bigger city suburbs, where you could get mobbed, but city centres, countryside, etc.. are very safe, nobody will attack you. You don't have to care about getting kidnapped and other stuff too.

The only problem is theft. In bigger cities, especially Marseilles and some touristic areas, watch out for pickpockets (especially in urban transports), don't leave anything worth stealing in your car (open your glove box to show it is empty when you leave your car), and when driving your car close the doors : thieves drive scooters and look for valuables on your rear seats or passenger seat.

yes it's safer, but dont go in marseille if u want to see your car again when u have left it.

The south of France is a lot safer than Paris. And even Paris is pretty safe. Just watch for pickpockets; they are smart. Best advice would be to wear a purse/bag that goes across your body with a strap that would be difficult to cut through and keep it in front where you can see it. Just make sure you're always aware of your surroundings and be on guard in big touristy areas. If you're going, have an amazing time!! France is incredible!!

The French countryside is more safe than Paris (which isn't very dangerous to begin with). The only place that you'd need to be on your guard is in the large cities like Marseille. Look out for pickpockets and car break-ins and the usual property crime.
