  1. i always bring dramime, immodium , antibiotics and cold medicine. otherwise if you dont act like a wiseguy , pick your friends carefully , dont act a fool ..vn is very safe.. btl water is available everywhere. i suggest avoiding a lot of oily soup[a little is ok] . food is good people are better... you'll be fine... sounds like your first time there .. stay in the tourist areas and be carfull w/ street hustlers that will approach you, blow them off quicky.. and dont be too "wishy washy" about it.

the biggest dange you will encounter is the traffic. you'll have to learn how to walk and cross the street in the big cities..  just keep moving... move slow and aleartly in one direction. dont stop , dont back up... just slow and steady move foward.

  2. NO way, when I was in nam I say my best friend have his head took off, we were on patrol just north of Hanoi

Do not go there, I repeat do not go there.

The locals pretend to be your friends but behind your back they are planning to kill you.

  3. It is abdolutely safe...not too sure and encourage on woman though...

  4. of course u r safe if u go with some1....

  5. Yes, VN is safe. I worked in Hanoi for more than a year and didn't have any problems whatsoever.

Today, VN is a major backpacker/tourist destination.

But be warned that traffic on the narrow country roads is high risk.

I also did hear that some "working girls" may slip some knock-out stuff into the drink of inexperienced s*x tourists who'll then wake alone and out without a penny.

But you should anyway stay away from WGs as it is illegal to bring VN women to your hotel room even for a "chat".

  6. yes it is so safe.

  7. Any ones says that Vietnam is not safe has ever benn to Vietnam?

I'm Vietnamese and I'm living in Hanoi Vietnam. I can say that, there is nowhere in the world is as safe as in Vietnam. Just ask any person that you know who has been in Vietnam, you will get an unique answer (nowhere in the world is safer than in Vietnam).

I have a small wonder, why do you think Vietnam is not safe? Have you ever been to Vietnam and do you have any information in Vietnam?

I hope to hear from you soon and I'm very pleased to give you more information about Vietnam - the most safety country.

  8. I visited Ho Chi Minh and the Mekong Delta region and had no problems at all.

You just have to be sensible e.g. don't flash your cash. In Vietnam there is always someone trying to sell you something, you just have to be polite yet firm and walk on. If you are rude to people then you could find yourself in trouble (people do not like to lose face).

I had no problem with the food. When you move out of the cities you find that standards drop (rubbish dumps next to the kitchen). When faced with those situations I just avoided meat.

I visited Vietnam with a friend and we met lots of lone travellers (male and female). None of the people we met had experienced any problems. If you are travelling alone and are a little worried, there are lots of cheap tours that you can join.

  9. Vietnam is a very safe country to travel in. Many say the safest in Asia.

The Vietnamese people are wonderful and rarely cause any problems.

As always, you need to be cautious at night or in markets where pick pockets hang out etc. The problem cities now are HCMC and Nha Trang, mainly due to bag snatchings on the streets. But if you use common sense, it will not be an issue!

Generally speaking, Vietnam is safe, easy to travel around and full of great destinations.

The people who winge and moan on these forums are idiots who have probably never traveled outside of their home country. Don't listen to them, instead, have a fantastic trip and enjoy Vietnam, its hard not to!

  10. Becarefull travel by a group if you can! Don't drink the water! Get bottled water that's sealed! Try to stay away from local restaurants! Eat fruits that you can peel off! Take some money in small amounts Carry your money in different pockets. Don't dress like if your a good target for thieves. Like wearing gold or something that makes you look like  your rich. Avoid getting drunk or people trying to ask you for money! Sure there are needy people but don't let them see that you have allot of money to give away! Try to avoid eye contact for long periods of time or giving attitude. Follow there laws Stay away from danger! The poor places of towns are worst then the decent parts of town! try to travel by day and stay inside at night. Try to becarefull messing around with the women they could have Men that will be jealous and try to beat you up!

  11. THERE IS NOTHING SAFE ABOUT THAT COUNTRY !!!!!    DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

  12. why are some people so negative, like this geezer above. go there, travel around, enjoy yourself, it is safe..

  13. thats like asking is it safe to **** in the sun

  14. Do not talk to people when you are walking along the streets late at night. You are advised not to stay out after 12p.m. If you need emergency help, call 113, it is the police emergency number.
