Is it safe to travel to Lebanon?

Well, me and my family haven't been there for 5 years now. We were going to go in '06, but once the war started--we couldn't. So we were considering going sometime in mid or late July to Lebanon. Do you think it will be safe then? My mom said we might just go for 2 or 3 days or a week and get out fast incase something does start up. How are the conditions in Lebanon as of right now through August?

While things are quiet now, Lebanon is a very volatile country and could become dangerous literally overnight. It is not a country to which travel is recommended.

For 2 or 3 days ..?  Are you kidding ..?  With all that has happened there in recent times it looks as though the worst is behind us & that this summer looks safe..

The government is at least making an effort to get things back on track & if I was in your position I would be there in a flash !

Go & have a great time but stay at least a month !
