  1. Hi Laura,

Try this using Vickie's Natural Head Lice Cure Home Remedy. It should be safe but you might want to double check the ingredients with your doc before using.

See link below for more info.

    Good luck

  2. Stick to the old conditioner and nit comb technique, its takes time, but its still better than being uncertain

im pretty sure it has something to do with the cemicals being absorbed into the scalp and into the blood stream, or the fumes.

go to a doctor i you really want to but i would just slather your hair in conditioner and brush all the buggers out with a nit comb!

  3. Laura,

As oted above, our bodies absorb chemicals through oru skin so the chemicals in the NIX will get absorbed into you and then out again to your baby.  When you look at the dangerous chemicals that are in some of the shampoos you will see that not only shoudl pregnant and nursing moms not use them but using them on kids makes little sense in my opinion.

I would do as noted above and get a really good NitComb and use conditioner on your hair to comb them out.  I woudl also likely have the first treatment be one with a natural product that loosen the nit glue so that you get as many out on the first comb through as possible.

The brand I prefer is called NitFree and it is chem-free and they have arguably the best nit comb available.  You buy them online as far as I can tell as I have not seen them in stores.

    Good luck.

  4. The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical preparations then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.

You should definitely stay away from chemical head lice treatments because no such treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison.

Lindane for example is a known carcinogen and is now banned in 52 different countries. Yet it is still used in more than 6 million prescriptions in the US. Google 'Jesse's Story Head Lice' for more. All lice killing pesticides are a poison and have the potential to cause serious damage, even if used as directed.

Read these articles and try to find a natural remedy containing Neem oil as this renders the lice unable to breed therefore making it impossible for them to build up a resistance.

    Good luck

  5. Mayo will kill the lice- get a big jar & pile it on your hair! You still need to get the Rid spray for the house & wash everything you have touched!
