Is it safe to use CIBA Vision's Clear Care and Bausch & Lomb's Boston Conditioning solution together?

I was wondering if it is safe to use the Clear Care no rub solution to clean RGP contacts and then use some of the the Boston conditioning solution when putting them in your eye. I use Boston right now to clean my contacts and I'm sick of rubbing so I want to switch to Clear Care where you just soak them for 6 hours. The thing is, I like to use a drop of the Boston conditioning solution when I put my contacts in, and you can't do that with the Clear Care.

So is it safe to use them together?

And I kind of can't ask my eye doctor at the moment, because I don't like how he works... Looking for a new doctor is on my to do list but yeah... Thanks!

Clear Care is a disinfecting solution for soft lenses, not a cleaning solution for RGP.  It will disinfect the RGPs, but will not clean or condition them.

If you don't rub the lenses, you won't get them clean.  Use an RGP cleaner for best results.

RGP lenses will be less comfortable if not soaked for a few hours in conditioning solution; a drop just before insertion will not provide the same level of conditioning that soaking overnight in conditioning solution provides.

If you need something to rinse and wet your contact with before insertion, use unisol 4 preservative free saline.

I sometimes do the same because I tend to use the Clear Care every once in awhile as a deep clean just like enzymatic cleaning (cuz Clear Care can be obtained in a trial kit and the Boston enzymatic cleaner is so expensive)

as long as you have the RGPs in the Clear Care soaked for at least 6 hrs with the disc to neutralize, its fine to rinse the lenses with Boston conditioning or simplus solution before putting them in your eyes...

from my experience, I would rinse the lenses quickly with the Boston instead of using just a drop though cuz the lenses tend to feel a bit dry when it's straight out of the Clear Care lens case, the Boston solutions are better with moisture and cushion and Clear Care is good and convenient with disinfecting and cleaning protein deposits
