  1. While my answer is yes, it is a qualified yes. Given the depth of your disease, and suppression (while at times necessary, steroids are like putting a lid on a boiling pot), you should not self-treat, and you should not accept homeopathic recommendations from any one other than a professional homeopath certified in classical homeopathy. Homeopathy is not the homeopathic remedy. Rather, homeopathy is the philosophy, understanding and experience in knowing which remedy to give, when to redose, when to change remedies, the meaning of symptom shifts, etc.

I've had a number of clients with severe, debilitating illness cyclically maintained and not helped by steroids. They were able to eventually get off steroids (because their symptoms resolved) under my care, because I knew how to use homeopathy to "turn down the heat."

There is one group who certifies homeopaths profession-wide in N. America. That is the Council for Homeopathic Certification (http://www.homeopathicdirectory.com). Since you're interested in homeopathy, just be sure you find someone who can help you get the most from this seemingly miraculous healing modality. Remember, if you're seeing someone who professes to offer homeopathy - and they aren't on this list - ask why they haven't tested, and find someone who has. It's really a comprehensive, difficult test. At this point in my career, I mentor graduating students so remain up on the rigorous credential process.

  2. It is not always safe. You have to check with your alternative medicine practitioner or/and with your doctor to see if there are no ill effects in using a combination of both. Most of the time it is safe but, in rare cases, it can be very dangerous.

As a diabetic, if you use alternative medication, you have to check your blood sugar level on a regular basis as well as your blood pressure (normally diabetics also have a hypertension problem).

    Hope this helps.

  3. They did a 20 year study at a prominent  NY Hospital, involving tens of thousands of patients, evaluating the merits of Eastern and Western medicines. Their determination was that the best treatment is a combination of both.

  4. you really need to talk to your dr on this one. you dont want to take any chances
