Is it safe to use Olive Oil in the Episiotomy Affected Area? How Olive Oil help to cure the loss of Episiotomy? After 2 months of a full cut Episiotomy, only some pain has inside the affected area. Outside area does not feel pain generally, but if touch, it little pain. Should we put the Olive oil only on outside, or inside too?

Some people also suggest to put honey or breast milk on the wound? Is it ok?

  1. Olive oil is safe for all use in my opinion. What's good about it for this is that it can be eaten and other oils that kill bacteria like tea Tree oil cannot. Olive Oil and extra virgin Olive Oil has the most nutrients kills bacteria and helps healing. I would also get Olive Leaf extract capsules and slide the capsules apart and mix it with your olive oil to a loose peanut butter consistency and apply it. For good messure I would add horstail rush herb too. The olive leaf by some doctors research has been effective against every bacteria and virus it has been tested on. Also horsetail has silica and has one of the best forms of calcium in the world known and is for healing of broken bones, connective tissue and topical wounds. Again these are for internal use so they should be safe for deep cuts unlike some other topical treatments.

    Write me with any questions.

  2. Olive oil is only OK to apply to an intact perineum. Applying it to already broken skin (episiotomy) will cause infection. Don't put anything on the area, just keep it clean and dry so it can heal properly. If you insist on using something, I would use homeopathic arnica cream or gel on the affected area. At 2 months past your episiotomy you should only feel tenderness, if that, and not any pain at all.

Call your doc to see if the episiotomy might be infected and go from there.
