  1. It will in a pinch, but don't make a habit of it.  ACE is right - distilled water is the ideal choice, because minerals in tap water (if too much is applied) will collect on the lead plates inside the battery.  Eventually, they will bridge the space between the plates, creating an electrical short and a dead cell.

  2. Bottled water or distilled water is best.  Stay away from tap water if you can avoid it.  The minerals from the tap water will stick to the walls of the lead plates, eventually shorting them out and reducing capacity and voltage.

  3. I suppose you can but it still wont start by simply adding water.

  4. Battery has run dry, or Very low? Old battery, Bad Cell or Cells, Won't hold a Charge and will just boil Out what you add. New Battery!!

  5. Distilled water is best but tap water will work.

  6. NO. Use distilled only - if you want to keep your car in good shape.

Then jump or charge the battery.

    Good luck!
