if i come by Bus and want to cross over to the city railway station , at night 10 pm is it safe to use the subway , or is it better to walk on the road above? is there any risk of getting mugged or robbed etc since i hear there r no police in that area , and mostly they r partners with criminals in that area.

  1. dont ever use the sub ways during this time... it may prove costly to you..... better cross the road near the signals....

  2. It is safe to use the subway to cross the road

  3. Just look around carefully to see if there are other people using the subway, otherwise just go across the road

  4. There are quite a few trains which leave from or arrive into Bangalore around 1000 PM. Hence you should be OK to cross the road using subway at that time. But just be quick and a little attentive. 1000 PM should be fine. It might get risky a little later. I did use subway around 10 pm quite a few times, but that was long ago. Otherwise, if you are coming from Kengeri side, Vijaynagar/Malleswaram/Yeswantpur/Yelaha... side, then jump off at the signal and walk to station. :)

Another thing is that, I have noticed that after 11 pm or so, the subway is closed, and the gates on the divider for the road over the sub-way are opened, so that people can cross the road and not use the sub-way. I am not sure if it is still the case.

  5. Free from vehicle traffic therefore safer, fairly crowded at 10.00 p.m., better not to walk on the road, do not know about last question.
