My wisdom tooth on my lower left jaw has been growing out. and it hurts ALOT- most likely an impacted tooth. Problem is that i don't not have dental insurance this year and i would have to wait 5 months. is it safe to wait until 2009 or should i pay out of pocket now?

  1. you should ask yer dentist about this!

  2. If it's impacted, you probably should get it out right away.

I had an impacted wisdom tooth, and the one in front of that one was infected -- probably from the wisdom tooth.  I was experiencing pretty bad pain, and had to go to the dentist on an emergency appointment.  I was given antibiotics for a week, and had both teeth removed.  I felt much better, even though my wallet was much lighter.

Sometimes, it's worth the extra cash to get this sort of thing taken care of ASAP.  If you get an infection and not get it fixed, it can spread to other parts of your body -- including your brain and heart.  It also affects your sinuses and face.

Plus, it may cost just as much, if not more, in five months if you don't take care of this soon.  Spare yourself the pain and black holes in your teeth and go to the dentist!

  3. THIS IS A JUDGMENT QUESTION FOR YOU. IS THE PAIN REALLY SOMETHING  YOU CAN STAND FOR A WHILE OR NOT? YOU MUST DECIDE.

  4. i would definetly pay out of pocket better safe than sorry i would say becaus e it will definetly hurt worse if you wait til next year because it will be hurting all this time  then you get it pulled and it hurts worse than it would if you got it done now than hurts even longer because you waited my dad did that and he said it  hurt worse the time he waited then the time he didnt and it hurt longer to so the chice is up to you and yes it is totaly safe you can get it pulled whenever
