I have a monitor which I can't find the power adapter to, so I used one from another piece of electronics I have.

They are both 12v adapters but this one has a higher amperage than the missing one.

Is this safe? It seems to work OK.

  1. Yes you can use it. Your monitor will only draw 3.5A current, so the adaptor can supply that rating exactly. Just make sure that your monitor requires 12V same as the output rating of the adapter.
