  1. It's a lot of fun actually! I did my PPL in a Cessna 152 down in south Texas on the coast. The crosswind landings were a lot of fun! They are safe a/c, so you should have nothing to worry about. Maybe ask your pilot to give you a power on/off stall just for the full experience! (Just kidding)

  2. "Cessna" can mean anything from a 2-seat training airplane to a luxury executive jet that seats 10-12 passengers.

There is no reason to be afraid riding in any of them, assuming the pilot is properly trained and certified.

    Have an enjoyable flight.

  3. That all depends on how well you fly as a passenger in any plane.

If you are worried as a passenger, don't be. The flight might seem a little more bumpy and noisier but it is just because you are in a smaller enviornment than in a commercial jet.

Many pilots start out training in Cessna's. From the two seater 150 on up through the 180 series.

I once flew in a Cessna that was set up as a camera platform. I was shooting a demo reel for an airshow pilot. The Cessna I was riding in had no rear seats and I had to hang onto a strap during takeoff and landing. Not exactly legal but I had no problems as my pilot was very skilled and everything was as smooth as silk.

Don't be scared. Enjoy the view, it will be great.

  4. It actually isn't as scary as a regular big plane, my dad bought one a few months ago and for the first two months I refused to fly in it, but when I did, I absolutly loved it because I could see everything around me and I know what was going on with the caption so I felt totally safe and Tubulance is minimal if not non existant

so to answer your question it is totally fun! and not at all scary

  5. If you are afraid of looking out the window at your side in an angle with the terrain or water nearly beneath you, then yes it might be scary on a Cessna trainer, which is a high wing, unless you don't scan for anything!

  6. no way

  7. Depends what you mean by Cessna - a 2 seat Cessna 150, or a Citation jet, or any of the myriad of models inbetween.

I have taken people flying in a Cessna 150 and 172 and without fail everyone has enjoyed it - even first time flyers. I have only had one person slightly scared when I was flying the final approach and landing pattern with a 40 knot wind. It got very bumpy the closer we got to the ground and my passenger was gripping onto his seat like his life depended on it - so much so that he didn't even notice we had landed :-)

  8. if youre scared of flight itll be worse, but its almost like driving/riding in a car.

  9. Not at all!!!   3 years ago my wife and I  flew from Haines ,Alaska to Juneau....   my wife had never flew before and thoroughly enjoyed the trip!

  10. Depends on the person.  If you're the type of person who clutches the seat's armrests at the slightest bump, in an airliner, then yes, it will probably be scary.  For other people, it is quite an enjoyable experience.

  11. No.

Is it scary to ride in a Chevrolet?  A Piper?  A Beechcraft? A Yugo? (Well, maybe a Yugo)

  12. It depends. I flew on the 182 and I was scared from take off to landing. The reason is because

    1) I wasn't behind the controls and

    2) I did not trust the pilot ( my supervisor at work who was learning to fly)

I love flying though, so my answer is if you have fear of flying then yes it is scary but if not, it is a thrill.

  13. I find them to be a lot of fun.  I have flown a 152, 172, and a G1000 182 and liked all of them.  I have also sat up front on a Citation 2 CE550.  They prop planes are easy to fly and pretty forgiving.  It all comes down to your comfort level.  If you a small bump has you praying to god you may want to stay out them, especially in the summer.  The only thing I don't like about cessnas are is that they don't look that sleek and most are pretty slow unless you get into at 210 or something higher.  I would much rather fly a Bonanza.  Now that is a sweet flying plane.

  14. I used to take flight training in Cessna.  At first (the VERY first time) it was scary.  But like everything I got used to it and I didn't even think about it.

    Good Luck....
