because i go to the gym and people always try and spak up conversations with me and i purposely brush them off.I gave this philipino guy a few minutes of my time and he was yapping too much that i lost focus on what i went there for and that is to build muscles. He was soo annoying that i told him that maybe he think about doing some weights and talk less.I hurt his feelings but he's beyond weird. His idea of a work out is lifting up 5 kg dumbbells and shadowboxing (in a gym what the) the pads off of the weight set then he goes to the mirror and flexes his muscles (whatever muscles he has) then comes back and talks to me how he's done every sport ever made (which is BS) yet he's the size of a tooth pick.He is too much but i feel a bit s****. or arrogant.

    be like i help u

would you be a quieter !!

  2. "Sorry man, my bulimius plankton is acting up and I really need to concentrate."

I made up the latin muscle name :)

  3. maybe if you had earphones in and listened to music or whatever - it would let people know that you were not interested in conversation.

  4. Well I don't think so...

I'd recommend that you go along with the convo but deliberately make it awkward. After all, you go to the gym to work out, not to socialise.

  5. get an mp3 player and put in your earpieces. Avoid eye contact-people should get the idea that you are there for work and not there for social hour.

  6. Gyms are g*y hangouts.  Expect to be hit on.

  7. just relax in take it essay baby don't think of them they type your body baka gusto ka ng manga iyon!!! he he

  8. There are very few places that one needs to be totally self centered.  One is a gym.

Youre concentrating on you and your health.

I can see if youre taking a sauna, jacuzzi, swimming etc.

Then some socializing might be ok.  Pumping iron etc needs concentration.  Centering.

  9. Hi!

I reckon the gym can be a real social thing to some, and others they just dont want a bar of it.

Maybe next time you see him you could say sorry for being harsh (if you think you were) but you just want to focus on your workout and get out of there.

But i dont think there is anything wrong with not wanting to get into full convos at the gym.

  10. No, it is not selfish of you at all.

I'm a personal trainer and I see a lot of people exercising their mandibles more than any other part of their body.  Then they wonder why they don't get stronger or lose weight.

When I'm working out and someone tries to chat me up (or when some guy hits on me), I give it a minute or so, then tell the person that "I'd love to stay and chat, but I need to finish my workout."

  11. no, i do the same thing - I'm not there to socialize

  12. Try and be polite but take some earphones and just try and look like your really into your work out!
