Is it shingles? but no rash....?

Question

i have excruciating pain for months and not go away on my back right shoulder area. I had small area rash on my back 2 years ago and took meds but never had pain. This pain never goes away and it really affects day to day stuff. I have seen a doc but supposedly it might be a pulled muscle. Doubt it cuz nothing heals the pain. Can it be shingles but no rash yet?

This comment is wrong. You can have shingles w/out a rash although it's rare.
