Isn't that playing God?

  1. On the basis that weather forecasting is anything but an exact science, are you suggesting that to predict the weather exposes the fallibility of god?

  2. Not playing God at all its simply understanding how something works that God created and creating computer similuations based on past information to guess what may happen.

Its called Science, not playing God.

  3. Only if the weatherman says, "I am a prophet of God (or a sorcerer or something other than a meteorologist)."  I think it's helpful for preparing for a big storm, don't you?

That Bible verse is an awesome one, btw.  You are taking it out of context, however.

  4. No, because if we predict it doesn't mean god will change it. All were doing is predicting what god is going to do. So no its not playing with god, but I don't really believe in god.

  5. No it,s not. It can save a lot of people. I live in FL i can tell you..But those glasses sure are hun!

  6. What, are you kidding, of COURSE it's a sin to predict the weather!  If you were to show some dopler radar and give a 5 day forecast say, 800 years ago, not only would they label you a very bad sinner, but the good people of the church would have definitely seen to it that you were tortured nearly to death, and then burned.  The Bible makes it very clear that divination and any such predicting of the future after the time of the prophets was a sin punishable by death, and you certainly wouldn't have any shot at heaven.  Now go TURN OFF that Fox Weathercast, before you bring the wrath of God down on us all!!

  7. Holy cow ! WTF are you smoking ?

  8. There was a mighty prophet in the Old Testament who used a very mundane way to know when the rain was coming ... a cloud on the horizon.

Now this prophet knew a lot of things by knowledge from God.  Was it a sin for him to look to the horizon for verification?

Being content doesn't mean do not be prepared, nor look for evidence.

Being content means to not complain, nor spend more than you make, nor get impatient with God for not giving enough, even if you're living in a tent as Paul often did.

  9. it definitely isn't 'playing god'. as far as i know, god doesn't predict the weather.

  10. It is not a sin that leads to death... God asks us to read the signs of the times more so...

  11. No, I don't think predicting the weather is even close to being a sin.  God has given us minds that have created this wonderful technology to be able to with some degree of accuracy predict storms, hurricanes, etc.  I am sure this technology has saved lives!

  12. No, it is not sinful to predict the weather and it is not playing God. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me is not just a phrase. For example: I can predict weather changes through health issues. My body tells me of changes through Arthritis. I'd might wake up in the morning and feel aches and pains from impending bad weather. My body has predicted many bad storms, and I have been this way since I was a small child.  My doctors have been stumped, but now will believe me and prepare for eminent bad weather. My friends and family usually call me to check the weather!  Yeah, everybody jokes  about it, since my doctors insist it is not arthritis, but is impressed with my gift anyway. It is not multiple sclerosis, but I have been diagnosed with it  about 25 years ago.Yes, God has been good to me by allowing me to warn others of eminent bad weather coming so that they may prepare for the storm. I had a grandmother who could also predict the weather, and she would warn others of a storm brewing and was never wrong. She is also the person that told me that my pains were a gift; she was a Godly woman, and is now in heaven with our Lord. Good quesion, Blessings.

  13. No, its not a sin to be prepared

  14. You're not serious, are you? You've got to be a troll.

  15. Oh no we must know what the weather is going to do that is for sure.

  16. I don't see how your quote has anything to do with the weather....

To your question- no.  Why in the world would it be?

  17. are you referring to just looking at weather patterns or are you divining the weather?

  18. No, we wouldn't know if hurricanes would be approaching without predicting the weather.

Are you trying to r****d society?

  19. No it is not-.- thats like asking if its sinful to cure cance, controlling the weather might be playing god, but i can predict the weather by looking out a window.
