I'm thinking about buying a Smart Fortwo. Do you think buying a Mercedes-Benz decked out golf cart is a good choice to battle the rising gas prices?

  1. No it is a not a good idea

-Mercedes reliability, while improving, has been horrible

    -rides really hard

    -noisy

    -awkward and hard transmission shifting

    -2 seater only

    -premium gas only

-mileage not that great given short comings

    -overpriced

    -small dealer network

-parts will be hard to come by

-Mercedes mechanics charge well over $100 an hour

This is a one trick pony, "fad" car that everyone has to have because they are panicked about gas prices.  It is cute and will draw a crowd, but is not well suited to the American market.  Every car magazine I have read has hated it.

I would look at a Honda Fit.

  2. Nah, I'd look for something more practical.

  3. the car is a smart choice for those who want a city car just for the trips to the market and stuff, but at the rate they're selling at right now, you should hold off buying one for a couple of years.

They  say they start at 11k, but it'll be hard to find one under 17k.

if you want to battle gas prices, try buying a Honda Fit

  4. I think they are ugly and way overpriced. Don't they cost like $2995 in India?

  5. 41 mpg, yes

  6. no, if u get in a car accident with the smart fortwo then u will get crushed
