Is it smoother to shave your pubic hair upwards or downwards?

I shave mine downwards but when it's growing in it hurts REALLY bad when if you touch the hair growing in. Does this happen if you shave downwards too?

I heard its better to shave in different directions but it seems like your skin is too sensitive.  I used to shave all the time but it caused a lot of ingrowns and my skin started to be really irritated after shaving so often.  So I switched to the brazillian waxing.  The first time always sucks but I highly recommend waxing!  The hair is gone for a long time, your skin is as smooth as can be, your hair grows back alot thinner and some hair dont even grow back at all!  

And once you wax, you really want to stick with it and not go back to shaving!   Thats the mistake I did.  Shaving causes your roots to grow stronger and the stronger the roots, the more of a b*tch it is to shave and even wax!  

I'm back to waxing and loving it!! Theres no way im using a shaver down there ever again!!

Iv never shaved downwards.And iv never had pain with the hair growing down there(touch wood lol)

It is possible that you may have some ingrown hairs down there from shaving downwards. i no it may be embarrasing, but maybe seeing your doc and telling her whats going on would be a good idea.

Or you could try shaving upwards.

And if it still happens...

I use an electric razor and just trim instead of shaving, and I trim upwards and mine is pretty smooth (sorry, TMI).  Shaving causes bumps and irritation.

actually the same tha happens to me whether i shave n all directions or use a hair remover.

Yikes, don't ever shave upwards! That causes serious razor burn, itchiness, irritation and it looks pretty bad, too. Shave downward, and if you need to, shave sideways.. Never up.

To make it smooth and hurt less you should trim the hair with nail sissors first

then you can save the left over hair downwards.
