Ok mu Husband cleaned the tub Saturday and after we both took showers the next day there was like gray stuff around the drain. This has been happening ever since we started using Dial bodywash. We used to use Caress and Axe and we never had that problem. But could it possibly be the soap? And we noticed it only happened with Dial...what can we use to help with this and does it sound like soap scum? One day my husband said it was kind of slippery feeling.

  1. yeah, soap scum.  You can clean it with shampoo before you get out of the tub.  Shampoo is great for cleaning the tub.  There is some stuff called Clean Shield that you can put on your tub that helps all the gunk not stick, so it slides down the drain.

  2. It's dead skin cells, bacteria, and soap all in one.  I use Dial as well.  It's an antibacterial soap so it gets all the grime and dead skin cells off of  your body.   Whereas the caress, axe, and other brands may not.  Think of it as an extra shower, when using Dial.

To get rid of it, my husband and I use a green scotch pad and some soap scum remover, and clean the shower after we get out.   It takes two seconds, and us always have a clean tub.

  3. yeah it is , yuck

  4. Yea it probably is, either that or it's just soap that escaped from your wash cloth or loofah. Just clean your tub daily. It will keep things nice and fresh. Use a sponge too!

  5. I think I'd quit using Dial.  To quickly clean your shower, keep a Mr. Clean eraser in the shower.  Before you get out just do a little bit of tidying up.
