Question:

Is it still bad to have subs facing each other even if there in sealed encloures?

i got 4 12"s that i wanna put in my trunk in sealed enclosures and i was thinking about having 2 facing the rear of my trunk and the other 2 on the sides facing each other do you think it would sound bad if there facing each other even if there in selaed enclosures?

  1. it doesn't matter to much unless the speakers that are facing each other are very close.  I'm sure you have put you hand over the front of a sub when its hitting and felt air pushing on your hand...most people have don't this...if two of them are facing each other and are very close that air will push on the other and then back and that could damage them.  Subs need so much cubic feet of their own space to work properly so maker sure there is a good 10" to a foot between the front of the speakers to allow proper speaker movement


  2. Bass is not directional meaning from the surface of the speaker it will travel in all directions.  So I doubt it matters much which way they are facing.
